There are a great many establishments in and around the city of Loudon that offer a wide range of dining experiences whether you simply want a quick snack to take away or prefer to eat in at a restaurant instead. From American classics to fresh fish and international dishes such as traditional Italian, Mexican and Asian cuisine too there really is something to suit everyone.
Classico Italian is one of the busiest restaurants in town as it is extremely popular with both local residents as well as visiting tourists and you can find it on Lakeside Plaza in the heart of downtown Loudon. Along with their traditional homemade pizzas and classic pasta dishes like lasagna, carbonara and meatballs, the extensive menu also offers some house specials that come highly recommended including Eggplant Rollatini and Parmesan Chicken. These dishes are served with a fresh salad and garlic knots freshly baked on the premises as are the warm bread rolls which are served with real butter. There is no wine list only beer however you can bring your own bottle in that respect for a small additional charge. The beer itself is well priced and a pitcher of Peroni beer can be purchased for slightly more than the price of two bottles of beer, which works out more economically. Service is very good as the staff is well trained and very helpful, while live folk and country music is provided some nights too by a local band. The pizza menu is also available for takeaway too. El Potrillo Mexican Restaurant is another local favorite that is located on Cherokee Place and is also known as Lorenzo’s which is its most recent incarnation name and while the name may have changed the food is as good as ever. This is a family run restaurant that offers authentic Mexican cuisine cooked exactly as it should be and at a very modest price. House specials include the Chilli Rellenos, Santa Fe Salad and their renowned Chicken Soup. The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back so if you are looking for somewhere that is cozy and comfortable with exceptionally good food then this is definitely worth trying if you are in the area.
The Cabin Restaurant is located on the outskirts of Loudon on Highway 72, North and is ideal for meat lovers especially those who are fans of real BBQ food. From tender steaks and baby back ribs to catfish and chicken, all BBQ dishes are smoked properly and simply cooked in the oven and smothered in sauce. They also offer a wide range of veggie dishes, sandwiches and other snacks including a selection of delicious homemade deserts. If you prefer to eat on the go then Carl’s Drive-In is a good option for you. This has been a favorite among local residents for a while and as a result many visitors also pop in to experience one of their highly recommended snacks, thanks to its excellent food, friendly staff and great prices.
